Pirate's Code (FAQ)
Find answers to the tales scallywags ask 'bout our charters, coin, and ways.
Quick Paths
Does 'No Fix, No Coin' apply t' ink-press (printer) patch-ups?
Nay, that oath don't cover ink-presses. Ye pay fer the sweat even if the cursed machine stays broken.
Are new gears fer ink-presses easy to find?
Ink-press gears are rare as mermaid tears. When ye do find 'em, they usually cost more than a brand-new press.
Should I fix me ink-press or toss it to the sharks?
Since new ink-presses are cheap plunder, ye should weigh the gold before payin' a shipwright to fix an old one.
Do yer patch-up prices include the new timber?
Nay, the bounties listed are just fer the sweat and include the Crown's tax. New timber costs extra.
How does the Drop-Everything (Urgent) Patch-up work?
Our Drop-Everything service is fer when yer ship is sinkin' and ye need it back NOW. When ye pick this, yer broken gear gets shoved to the very front o' the shipwright's line.
While a normal patch takes 3-5 suns, a Drop-Everything patch is hammered out in an estimated 1-2 suns. That includes finding the rot, chopping it out, and testing the cannons.
What this means:
This does not include the time it takes for rare timber to arrive on a merchant ship. If we need to order parts, we'll shout the new timeline to ye, but yer gear stays at the front of the line.
When do ye demand a Spyglass Fee?
We demand a Spyglass Fee to figure out what kraken ate yer gear. This covers the sweat of taking it apart. Ye can see the fees on the bounty board. But, if ye hire us to fix the rot, we toss the Spyglass Fee overboard!
Pirate Tales
Tale 1: Fix ordered, Spyglass Fee tossed
Scallywag: Ahoy, me lap-box is dead. Can ye find the curse?
Shipwright: Aye, but there be a Spyglass Fee. If ye pay us to fix it, we drop the fee.
(The shipwright finds the brain-board is cracked and names a price.)
Shipwright: Yer brain-board needs magic. Shall we proceed?
Scallywag: Aye, do it.
Shipwright: Grand! The Spyglass Fee is tossed overboard since yer paying for the fix.
Tale 2: Fix denied, Spyglass Fee collected
Scallywag: Me lap-box keeps freezing like ice. Look at it!
Shipwright: Aye, there be a Spyglass Fee. We'll drop it if ye buy the fix.
(The shipwright finds the memory-stone is dead and names a price to swap it.)
Shipwright: Yer memory-stone is dust. Want me to swap it?
Scallywag: Nay, keep yer hands off it.
Shipwright: As ye wish. Hand over the Spyglass Fee for me time, then.
Quick Paths
Can I parlay before I buy?
Aye, we love a good parlay! Shout at us on the Hail Us page, pick the parlay option, and tell us what yer hunting. Merchant guilds can pick the fleet option. We don't parlay through shouting horns (phones).
How do I get me ship built from scratch?
Toss the ship-building charter into yer chest before paying the toll. Once ye pay, we check if the planks fit together and holler if they don't. We start hammering when all the wood is in the dock. Want to spy on it? Check the ship-building page.
Can I toss me old cursed gear to ye?
Aye! When ye buy shiny new iron from ITGOIT, ye can hand the old rusty junk of the same kind to the PostNL courier for free. Learn the rules on our junk-trade scroll.
Can I change me port address?
Before ye pay, change yer port in yer Sea Chest. If the ship hasn't sailed yet, fire a flare via the Hail Us page with 'Wrong Port' and yer claim tag. We'll shout back if we fix it in time.
What be ITGOIT’s second-chance loot?
Our second-chance loot is graded A, B, or C. A and B get the same shipwright's oath as new iron. C gets a shorter oath. Tossin' 'em back works the same. Read the second-chance scroll for the full tale.
Can I change or scuttle me haul?
To scuttle it, shout on the Hail Us page with 'Scuttle Haul' and yer tag. To change it, use 'Change Haul' and tell us what to swap. We'll shout when it's done. Ye might owe more coin or get a refund, see the bounty board.
Why was me haul scuttled by the Captain?
We sink hauls if ye don't hand over the coin in 48 sands, if the bounty was priced wrong by a drunk scribe, or if the loot is gone. We'll send a pigeon to tell ye why.
How do festival bounties and magic codes work?
Read the festival scroll for open bounties. Dead festivals can't be joined, but ye can claim the gold if ye bought the loot in time. Magic codes get sent after the return window closes.
Can I buy loot on an IOU (credit)?
Merchant guilds can beg for an IOU after we check their vaults. If we say nay, we'll tell ye, and it might delay the ship a sun. Use the Hail Us page to beg.
Quick Paths
What kind o' coin do ye take?
We take iDeal, Magic Plastic (Credit Card), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bancontact, and Bank Chest transfers. No IOUs for solo sailors, and no paying the courier. If ye pick it up at the dock, ye can use Magic Plastic.
How do I use a cursed treasure map (gift card)?
Scrawl yer treasure code as a note when paying the toll. Our quartermaster will dig it up manually, which might take a sun to show on yer receipt.
What if me coin pouch is jammed?
If the gold won't pour, use the Hail Us page with 'New Coin Link' to beg for another try or a different way to pay. We'll throw ye a new rope.
What if I can't pay the bounty?
If the bounty hunters come knocking and yer broke, reply to their pigeon via the Hail Us page to parlay. We'll try to find a way that doesn't involve the plank.
Can I get a parchment with the Crown's Tax (VAT)?
Aye, a tax parchment is automatically stuffed in yer Sea Chest and sent via pigeon one sun after we get yer gold.
Are the prices for on-deck patch-ups inclusive of new timber?
Nay, the bounties on the board exclude new wood and include the Crown's tax.
Quick Paths
How much coin to sail the loot to me?
The toll depends on how far yer port is, check the bounty board. Pickin' it up at ITGOIT's dock is always free.
Where be me loot?
Use yer spyglass in yer Sea Chest. Loot we don't have takes longer as we hunt for it. Once the ship sails, ye get a tracking spell. If it's lost in a storm, shout at us on the Hail Us page.
When will the ship drop anchor?
Depends on the wind. Loot we hold that ye buy before 11 PM on weekdays or 10 PM on Sun's Day usually hits yer port the next sun. Bank chests take an extra sun. Read the sailin' scroll for details.
Can ye split the haul into two ships?
We usually load it all on one ship, but ye can beg to split it on the Hail Us page. It'll cost ye extra coin, check the bounty board.
Can I row over and pick it up meself?
Aye, row to our dock during watch bells. Bring yer claim tag and pirate mark (ID). Loot we hold is usually ready the same sun after we confirm.
Can I tell the ship exactly when to drop anchor?
Ye can't pick the exact bell when paying, but ye can beg for a certain sun on the Hail Us page. Ye gotta sign the parchment unless it fits in yer port-hole.
Can ye drop it at a PostNL tavern instead?
Aye, just pick 'PostNL Tavern' when paying the toll.
What if I scrawled the wrong port on the map?
If the ship hasn't left, shout on the Hail Us page with 'Wrong Port' and yer tag. Yell loud and fast so we can steer the ship.
What if me loot was smashed by a kraken on the way?
Scream about the smashed loot within 48 sands via the Hail Us page with 'Kraken Damage'. Send paintings of the crate, the packing, the seal, and the broken iron. We'll tell ye what to do next.
What if ye sent me a barrel of rum instead of a cutlass?
Beg for a return in yer Sea Chest to swap it for the right iron. Our quartermasters will fix the blunder, use the Hail Us page for a hand.
What if I ain't at the dock when the ship arrives?
The courier might leave it with the tavern next door or take it to a PostNL shack. Change the wind with the courier before they arrive if ye know yer gonna be gone.
When do ye charge a Docking Fee for on-deck patch-ups?
Fer all on-deck jobs, a standard Docking Fee is demanded to cover the rum and time it took to row to ye, even if we can't kill the kraken. It keeps our ship afloat. Here's the code:
Keep in mind the Docking Fee is separate from any extra coin demanded if ye live past the edge of the map.
When do ye charge extra coin fer sailin' far?
We charge extra coin when yer port is further than a normal cannon shot from our dock. It costs coin per league traveled. Check the bounty board for the exact math.
Quick Paths
How do I toss loot back?
Solo sailors can toss loot back within 14 suns, no questions asked, via the Toss It Back page. Guilds might face taxes or be told nay. Cursed (broken) loot is covered by the Oath, read the return scroll.
What's the toll for tossin' loot back?
Ye pay the courier unless we sent the wrong shiny bit or it broke under the Oath, then we might toss ye some coin back. Read the return scroll.
How do I start the toss?
Start a plea on our website. Ye get a pigeon back with a cursed number and a map. Ye can also just drop it at our dock. Pigeons will tell ye the progress.
How do I pack the loot fer the toss?
Stuff it in a sturdy crate, ideally the one it came in. Don't slap sticky notes on the actual treasure box. Pay the courier yerself; we refuse chests that demand coin on arrival. It's yer problem till it hits our dock, so guard it. Send all the bits it came with, or we'll tax ye.
How many suns do I have to toss it back?
Solo sailors get 14 suns from the day it hits the dock. Guilds gotta beg and might pay a tax, check the bounty board. Cursed loot can be tossed back anytime before the Oath expires.
How fast do I get me gold back?
We try to open the returned chest in 5 suns. Gold gets poured back in 1-5 more suns after we say aye, depending on yer bank.
Can I just swap it for a bigger cutlass?
Within 14 suns, beg for a swap on the return page. It's usually faster to demand yer gold back and just buy the bigger cutlass yerself.
How do I toss back loot that ain't in me Sea Chest?
In yer Chest, click 'New Toss Request' and pick 'Toss Without a Map'. Scrawl the details, and we'll send a pigeon with a cursed number.
How do I toss back loot bought from the Bol or Amazon bazaars?
Within 30 suns, start the toss on yer Bol or Amazon map. They'll hand ye a magic seal to ship it back to us.
What loot can't be tossed back?
Things ye put in yer mouth or ears, dirty rags, unsealed magic scrolls, half-empty chests, treasure maps (gift cards), or loot smashed by yer own clumsy hands. Read the return scroll fer the whole list.
